At present: A young person affected by domestic abuse could be waiting over 12 months for support at EdShift. We refuse to let this carry on any longer, but funding shortfalls make our job ten times harder.
We need to think differently.
In June 2025, the funding that covers our building costs will end. Leaving us with an ever increasing likelihood to relocate and rehome. If you’ve visited us you will know that our space is a beacon of light for the children and young people we support.
This is exactly why The Halifax Hoedown must be a success, and we need your help.

Here’s what you can do:
- Connect with our event page and share/invite as much as possible.
- Round up your friends and family and purchase tickets here.
- Follow our social media to stay up to date with The Halifax Hoedown activity.
- Donate to The Haystack Raffle.
- Print and put up our poster in your workplaces, image found attached.
Date: Saturday 19th April (12pm – 12am)
Location: The New Roxy, Wharf St, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 2AE

I hope you can join us in making history, by changing the course of young people’s futures in Calderdale – so they can overcome the trauma caused by domestic abuse and enter healthy, equal and fulfilling relationships.
