About the project:
Although people often expect parenthood to be a joyful time, many parents struggle when they are expecting a baby or after their baby has been born. It can be a very intense and demanding period and it is extremely common for parents to feel overwhelmed and stressed at times. However, getting the right support can make a big difference.
Calderdale Council are developing a specialist parent infant relationship team to support parents with their relationship with their baby. In order to help shape this service we are recruiting 6 community researchers to gather insight from parents with very young children.
About us:
Ideas Alliance is a social enterprise that builds bridges between communities and organisations, stories and strategy using collaborative and co-design approaches. We are working alongside Calderdale Council to go out and listen to families to understand what support they need to form positive relationships with their babies and young children.
About you:
Are you committed to making a difference for local families? Are you someone who can relate well to people? Would you like to be trained and supported to become one of our team of community researchers?
We are seeking 6 people, local to Calderdale, who can help us gather insights into the needs and experiences of families who are pregnant or have children aged 0-2 years. You will do this by chatting with local parents to help us capture their views and experiences.
Full training will be provided, so you do not need previous research experience.
The most important skills we are looking for are:
•Curiosity
•Energy and commitment
•The ability to relate to a wide range of people in your community
•A commitment to team working
You will be supported throughout this work by one of our team. We strive for diversity in our people. Ideas Alliance encourages applications from all backgrounds and are committed to having a team that is made up of diverse skills, experiences and abilities.
We will provide you with a community researcher agreement and you will be responsible for submitting timesheets to us and arranging payment of your own taxes, where relevant. You must be eligible to work in the UK.
Application Process:
