In accordance with the Electoral Administration Act 2013, a review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations must be undertaken for the Calder Valley and Halifax Parliamentary Constituencies.
Public notice of the review was given on 1 October 2023, Details of the review, along with the proposals can be seen on line at:- Review of Polling – Districts, Places and Stations 2023 | Calderdale Council.
Due to the closure of a number of buildings, it will be necessary to locate alternative polling stations in the following areas:-
| Calder Valley Constituency | Halifax Constituency |
| Greetland & Stainland | Northowram & Shelf |
| Luddendenfoot | Park |
| Town | |
| Warley |
Please note that this review will concentrate only on boundaries of polling districts and consideration cannot be given to any representations which affect existing Ward, Constituency or Parish Ward boundaries. Representations requesting changes to Polling Stations will be considered, and I would ask that, where alternative polling venues are proposed, the requirements for access to the premises for electors with disabilities are taken into account.
Maps and information relating to current electoral arrangements are available online at: –

Please note: This review is separate from the “Electoral Review” which is currently being undertaken by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE). Please be aware that once the LGBCE publish their recommendations then it will be necessary to undertake an interim review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations which will come into effect once the Electoral Review takes effect.
