Staying Well in Park

The project is a new user-led service run by Halifax Opportunities Trust in association with Calderdale Council and NHS England, that aims to help older people in Park Ward keep active and involved in their communities and improve health and wellbeing through social activities, classes, health talks, support groups and workshops. Some of the activities we have run have included swimming, coffee and cake meets, basic English classes, healthy cooking, gardening and trips with many more brilliant and varied activities in the pipeline such as befriending, a listening and recording project, arts and crafts, gentle exercise, a luncheon club and more. Many of our activities are held at the brand new Staying Well Hub located within Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre, a ‘home from home’ which has been co-designed by service users and is open to any of our members to pop in and have a cuppa, read a newspaper or tap in to our other facilities such as the I.T. suite.

Other activities are held in various venues within the community. Access to the service is made by self or professional referral and we can visit you in your own home to discuss how our service can best meet your needs.

For more information, or to arrange a home visit please contact Halifax Opportunities Trust on 01422 347392 or Natalie on 07866 981405 or Michelle on 07970 891587. Please also see our FaceBook page https://www.facebook.com/stayingwellparkward.
